Is is unoriginal and copycatting OR does sampling tracks pay dues and respects to the history of music and re-invent a more modern sound? What are your thoughts?
I personally get a kick out of finding correlating tracks, makes me know somebody else out there loves to dig for some good ole fashion music...here's one of MANY songs, enjoy!
P.s - Brighter side of darkness? What a name for a group huh...is there a "brighter" side lol...?
God Bless,

I think that recreating a classic in your own personal vision can be paying somewhat of a tribute to the greats! There is a line that should be drawn though...in that if all you do is sample other people's music then where is the "you" in your music. I understand that there are hits and hits from the past that should be rebirthed in order to exemplify the music but at the same time if all the music that you have created is based off of somebody else's music...then your art cannot truly be called your own.
ReplyDeleteThose are my thoughts, hope it made sense.
Made all the sense I completely agree! In order to be an artist or a creative you have to birth a creation....some do that by grabbing a handful of outside things (like a collage) and create a centralized presentation....and even that is an art!
